Francesco Sorbara, working hard for you in Vaughan–Woodbridge
Francesco Sorbara is the Member of Parliament for the riding of Vaughan-Woodbridge. First elected in 2015, Francesco is Chair of the Canada-Italy Interparliamentary Group, bringing together Canadian and Italian leaders to promote business and cultural ties between the two countries. He also serves as a member of the House of Commons Finance Committee.
Francesco is passionate about helping those around him. He serves on the board of the Neighbourhood Committee for the United Way York Region. As a member of Eva’s Initiatives’ Finance Committee, Francesco helped that organization secure funding for safe shelter and services for homeless and at-risk youth, enabling them to reach their full potential and lead self-sufficient and healthy lives. With his strong work ethic and desire for a better future – values instilled in him by his immigrant parents – Francesco is committed to strengthening community bonds in Vaughan–Woodbridge and building a better future for every family that calls this community home.
Prior to his election in 2015, Francesco worked as a corporate analyst with Scotiabank. He earned his Bachelors of Arts from Simon Fraser University, his Masters of Arts from the University of Toronto, and is a designated Chartered Financial Analyst. Francesco and his wife Rose are the proud parents of two young daughters, Eliana and Natalia.
